Why? Cause it installs plugin and themes for you with one click! It can install almost any theme and/or plugin out there, and even supports remote file installation. You just paste in the URL of the plugin/theme and it grabs it and installs it.

It’s still in “beta” stage so I’m gonna use you as my testers :). But right now it is pretty stable. The only catch is that you need to have the correct permission set on the plugins and themes diretory for it to work.

Anyway, let me now of any improvements that need to be made wether code-wise or usability-wise.

It even supports the WYSIWYG editor thanks to Owen’s buttonsnap library.

2.0 Also supports Owen’s Role Manager plugin. It adds the new capability, ‘change_smilies’. So if you use Role Manager, you will need to assign the ‘change_smilies’ capability to the various roles, or you won’t be able to change smilies. :)

Oh, and one more important note. It’s only for WordPress 2.0. Do not install it on 1.5 or the sky will fall on your head. And that could hurt.

There are a couple of bug fixes in this release, as well as some performance improvements. Mainly I removed the sorting of the smilies arrays, which can be rather large. This also addresses the issue that people had while trying to customize the sorting of there smiley packages.

This version also adds a few more default smiley packages for a grand total of 11 choices, thanks to all those smiley package creators out there. And remember I’m always looking for new packages, so contact me if you have some.
