You might be wondering what the hell happened to my site. Well, it changed. As you may have noticed I no longer run WordPress. I'm now running Habari on this site. It's not because Habari is better than WordPress, but simply because I got bored of WordPress and Habari offered a new code base for me to play with. I still highly recomend and support the WordPress project.
You will also notice that all my current WordPress plugins and themes are no longer supported. Since I won't be keeping up with WordPress anymore I can no longer support them. If you wish to take them on yourself and develop them further, please send me an email, and I'll link them to your site.
Finally I would like to say thank you to the WordPress team and community. It has been a great 4 years. I'll miss all the Press
.
More Smilies 2.1 has just been released. There are a couple of bug fixes in this release, as well as some performance improvements. Mainly I removed the sorting of the smilies arrays, which can be rather large. This also addresses the issue that people had while trying to customize the sorting of there smiley packages.
This version also adds a few more default smiley packages for a grand total of 11 choices, thanks to all those smiley package creators out there. And remember I'm always looking for new packages, so contact me if you have some.
After looking at TextPattern's templates, I thought it might be useful to have the XML style templates in WordPress. So I did a little hacking and came up with the WordPattern Template system.
This is still experimental, and currently has a few draw backs, but it's work ok. Let me know what you think, and If it's worth it I'll continue development on the project. Oh, I can't guarantee that the current code will work correctly, so use with caution.
Time for another plugin. Installer, the Plugin is probably the most useful plugin you'll ever use
. Why? Cause it installs plugin and themes for you with one click! It can install almost any theme and/or plugin out there, and even supports remote file installation. You just paste in the URL of the plugin/theme and it grabs it and installs it.
It's still in "beta" stage so I'm gonna use you as my testers
. But right now it is pretty stable. The only catch is that you need to have the correct permission set on the plugins and themes diretory for it to work.
Anyway, let me now of any improvements that need to be made wether code-wise or usability-wise.
WordPress has a very nice Customizable Permalink Structure. Unfortunately with the new rewrite rules (using path info) all 404's no longer get sent to the system logger.
That, my friend, is why you need the lovely Log 404 Plugin. Guess what? It sends all 404 requests to PHP's system logger, so you'll never miss a 404 again. And, it's compatible with WordPress 1.5 and 2.0!
