Merry Christmas!

It has been a good Christmas so far. The best present I got, was a new domain name. mattread.ca. It may not work yet for you, as I just changed the Name Server entries a few minutes ago. But now I have both .com and .ca, sweet!

Anyway, just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everybody. Hope you have a good Christmas and New Year.

Brakes And Oil

Well nothing really exciting, but I just did the front brakes, pads and rotors, and an oil change on my car. I always do my own oil changes, but this was the first time I've done brakes.

The brakes were actually extremely simple to do, assuming you have the right tools, which I did. You just remove the wheel, take the caliper off, and clip on the new pads. After cleaning and greasing the contact surfaces, of course. The rotors stumped me though. Luckily a quick call to my brother solved that. You just hammer them of and slide the new ones on. Bolt it all together, et voila, new brakes.

So for about $100 CAD I have brand new, Premium, brakes. Now for some new tires. ;)

I Like Pie

I like pie. Pie is round. Pie is a circle. Pie is not a square. Pie is calculable. Pie is 3.14 something. Pie is good. I want to east some pie.

Where have all the cowgirls gone?

Happy Birthday to Me

Today I turn 26! last year I was 25, and now I'm a year older. For you techincal people out there that's 25 + 1 = 26. I feel musch older than last year, like at least one year older. Damn, I just realized I'm almost 30. ahhhhhh!

Anyway, I haven't updated this blog much lately, and I wanted to let you all know what was up. But I'm gonna try to be a real blogger from now on. At least for a month or two. ;)

My Baby Died

Yes, my computer seems to have completely died last night. It looks like bad RAM but I'm not sure. Here's what happens.

I start up, everything goes good. I log in to the machine, and KDE starts fine. But after running for about 5 minutes, apps start crashing then the whole system freezes. The screen just stops and halts right there. Sometimes all that's left on screen the desktop background; other times the whole desktop is there, frozen; other times a blank screen.

So I tried to do a hard reset, but it just keeps restarting and restarting without even showing the POST stuff to me. So I'm thinking it's a RAM problem, or maybe a PSU problem. I'm hoping it's not a CPU issue.
