This Site Is Defaced, A Bad Worm

Looks like a lot of sites running phpBB 2.x have been getting hit by the Perl.Santy worm. Symantec Security Response says, Perl.Santy is a worm written in Perl script that attempts to spread to Web servers running versions of the phpBB 2.x... .

So, if like cLin, your running phpBB you should really check the phpBB site to see what measures need to be taken.

The worm, deletes certain types of files, including .asp .jsp .php, and puts the following on the site that was compromised:

It's Back, A HD Crash

My hosts harddrive, that this site was on, crashed Saturday. They got everything back, but I decided to do some cleaning, and deleted a lot of old files and crap I don't use anymore. So if you run into any 404's or other problems, it's my fault and I'm sorry. I should have everything back and reorginized by the end of the week.

Lucid, A Theme And Redesign

Say hello to Lucid, my new WordPress theme. It's still in "alpha" mode, as they say, but I thought I would give you all a preview of what it's going to be. So let's call it Lucid v0.9-alpha-6.

Lucid is actually more than just a theme, it's a collection of plugins and scripts, to completely style and run your site. There are many features within Lucid, but I'll just tease you for now, and tell you all about them when the official release comes out.

There's still some stuff that i need to add, like an archive page for category views, etc., a search page, and I still need to refine some of the scripts it uses. But an official release will be out before Christmas.

SafeSurf Rated

My site is now rated with the SafeSurf rating system. It's rated as "Adult Supervision Recommended". I haven't been approved by SafeSurf yet, but hopefully I soon will get my license. Have a look at my rating.

SafeSurf is voluntary rating service which uses the PICS specification to rate web pages based on content, using meta tags. I highly recommend you rate your site today.

Testing The Language and Pseudo Elements

This post is a test of my new CSS pseudo elements. I have added special quotes for English, Francais and German (only seems to work in Gecko, hmm). I have also added a neat hack to show the cite attribute right after a blockquote, to show the source of that blockquote, as well as language markers for the given lang attribute. Anyway, this post is just to test them out. Note that this will not work in IE, so go get FireFox.

This is a quote in English, using normal quotes and since the main language of this site is english there is no extra language identifier.

Se c'est un quote en Francais, et i'll y a un marker pour language. Je ne parler pas francais.
